The story begins explaining Flynn’s (Bridges) disappearance shortly after the original Tron movie takes place. His son is now in his 20s and is rebellious since his Dad disappeared. He doesn’t like the what has happened to his Dad’s company either and has taken to pulling a yearly prank on the company. Cillian Murphy’s character now runs Flynn’s company.

Thought it was kind of funny that Murphy would take such a small role in the movie. Anyway, Alan (Tron’s “User”), who still holds a prominent position in the company, tells Sam (Flynn’s son) that he somehow received a page from his Dad and urges him to check out the source, which is Flynn’s old abandoned arcade. At the arcade, Sam unexpectedly gets transported to the computer world just like his father did in the first Tron. Then the fun begins.

Tron Costumes For Halloween

To achieve the look of TRON: LEGACY, green screen and partial sets were utilized. Digital Domain’s Eric Barba showcased a couple of scenes that required many visual effects and the use of new technology. Raw footage with the actors and green screen were shown in contrast with the completed scene.

If you’d like to be ahead of the trend, try the sleeker ‘TRON: Legacy’ look. As you’ve seen in the trailer, the light grey look of the “User” has now shifted to black (a tight-fitting leather/imitation leather jacket, black pants and black sneakers should suffice). The Tron Legacy Costume features a black jumpsuit with blue reflective print and a sonic weld patch. The Tron Identity Disk is sold separately but highly recommended for the costume.

Wearing a helmet is no longer a necessity with the new version, but the biggest change is that you should use EL wire (electroluminescent wire) to freshen up the circuitry on your body. This is a bit more complex than buying some Spandex and fabric paint. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to add EL wire to clothes. If you have the time, patience and tools to pull it off, you’re certain to be the biggest hit at your Halloween party.
